Community Playground - Grant Funding

The playground project has received grants from Lafarge-Tarmac Ltd Landfill Communities Fund, the Big Lottery, Awards for All Programme and a donation from the Harold & Alice Bridges Charity.
Community fundraising efforts continue.  Thank you to the Ladies from the village churches, Holy Trinity, Christ Church United Reformed Church and Our Lady of the Angels, who held a joint Community Centre Coffee Morning raising £379, to the Ladies of Note whose entertaining evening raised £408 and to the Bowling Club for the £317 raised at the Mike Rigby Trophy competition.  Thank you to all who gave their support to these events.
After a year of enthusiastic fundraising, work is now underway on the playground refurbishment.

Thwaite Brow Woods annual nest box survey is coming !

The next work party of the Thwaite Brow Woods Conservation Group will be at 7pm on Tuesday 13th May. It is time for the annual nest box survey in the woods and once again Bolton le Sands Cubs will be assisting with the survey.
Anyone interested in helping with the survey is very welcome to come along. They do try and let everyone have a chance to see inside a nest box, but you do need to be comfortable with climbing a ladder in order to do so.
The results will be published on their new Thwaite Brow Woods Conservation Group Facebook page. If you want to see last year's results, please find them on Facebook and 'like' the page.
