As part of £65m savings the county council has identified in its budget for this year, it has had to make changes to how it funds bus routes. This is one of many difficult decisions it has had to make, and still has to find more than £200m additional savings over the next five years. This will mean changes to some bus services from 3 April. However, 60% out of the 113 bus services in Lancashire that is currently subsidised will still run in some form or other - though there may be changes to the routes and times of these services. £2m has been re-allocated and county has worked with bus operators to enable this to happen. Their priority is to support services that help you get to work and education.
Those bus services no longer supported will either be run by the bus operators on a commercial basis or will stop running after 2 April. You can find out more on their website www.lancashire.gov.uk, search for 'Bus service changes'
