Letter Scams

There seems to be several letter scams circulating at the moment. One consumer reported receiving a letter saying their previous employer owed them money from a pension scheme. The letter asked for
details of the consumer's birth certificate, passport and account. The consumer was immediately concerned as they did not have a pension with their previous employer.
There have been several reports of a letter allegedly from the Peoples Postcode Lottery. The letter states the recipient has won various amounts, such as £850,000, and asks the recipient to ring up to confirm. The number is a premium rate number. Consumers are also asked to pay an admin fee and in some cases people had been asked for £4,200.
