Have your dog micro chipped for free before you're breaking the law

Lancaster City Council is working in partnership with the Dogs Trust to help local dog owners avoid breaking the law.  In April next year, the Government is introducing a law making it compulsory for all dogs to be micro chipped and an offence if they are not.  In readiness for the new legislation, Lancaster City Council in conjunction with the Dogs Trust, are arranging free micro chipping days to ensure as many dog owners as possible are able to comply with the new legislation.  The next free micro chipping session will take place at Stanley Road Baptist Church Hall, Stanley Road, Morecambe on Thursday, August 27 from 11am until 3pm and open to everyone within the Lancaster City Council district.  If you require further details email dogwardens@lancaster.gov.uk or ring the service on 01524 582935.
